Blog #3: Kneading the way to Triumph

Updated: Jul 6, 2024

As I look back on my journey, I'm amazed at how much I've grown and learned over the years. It all started with a simple holiday when we three were packed off to learn baking from our aunt, who was a professional baker. She fostered this passion in us through the time we spent with her.

She would spent an entire summer, countless hours with me and my siblings, teaching us the art of mixing, measuring, baking, working with fondant, and making decorations, as well as mastering the art of icing. All of this was mixed with a lot of laughter and fun as we tried to perfect the craft of baking.

Through those baking sessions, I not only developed a deep appreciation for the culinary arts but also important life skills like communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail. Baking later became a passion in all of us, and I along with my siblings, learned how to work as part of a team, how to listen to different perspectives, and how to gracefully handle the inevitable mistakes and mishaps that come with any creative endeavor.

As our confidence in baking grew, so too did our desire to explore turning it into a small enterprise. Which our parents helped us create.
